Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinists to support a high-precision manufacturing operation in the San Jose area. This is a hands-on setup and machining position responsible for producing large, complex, tight-tolerance components on 3-axis, 5-axis, and CNC lathe machines . The ideal candidate can independently set up jobs, interpret complex drawings and GD&T, make machine adjustments, inspect their work, and troubleshoot machining issues.

Responsibilities:
Set up and operate complex CNC machines producing complex precision components. Install and indicate fixtures, tooling, and workpieces for multi-axis machining operations. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and GD&T . Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary offsets and machine adjustments . Work with controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar platforms . Determine and adjust machine parameters to maintain effective cutting conditions. Perform first article and in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy. Use precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment . Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and part quality. Troubleshoot issues involving tool wear, chatter, workholding, dimensional deviations, and machining performance . Work closely with programmers and engineering personnel to improve machining strategies and resolve production issues. Complete setup documentation, inspection results, and production records. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized machining environment. Requirements 6+ years of CNC Setup Machinist experience. Hands-on experience with CNC machining and complex setups . Strong understanding of multi-axis machining and workholding principles . Ability to independently set up CNC milling equipment, tooling, fixtures, and workpieces. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge. Strong G-Code programming skills Experience making offsets and adjustments at the machine . Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
