In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production standards are met through precise measurement, accurate machine setup, and diligent quality inspection. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce components according to technical specifications. Program and operate CNC machines using G-code, M-code, Mazatrol controls, and CAM programming software to create complex parts with precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing processes. Conduct machine setup procedures including tooling selection, calibration, and measurement with precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained. Inspect finished parts using measurement tools and quality control techniques to verify conformance to specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design improvements using CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results for quality assurance purposes. Qualifications Proven experience in CNC machining including programming. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately. Proficiency in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments for quality control. Familiarity with manual machining techniques on lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools. Knowledge of CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks and other design tools for tooling or part development. Understanding of CNC setup procedures, machine calibration, tooling selection, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Ability to read technical drawings with GD&T symbols for precise manufacturing tolerances. Experience working within lean manufacturing environments is a plus. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting.
