: Job Summary
Create machine parts and tools using precision computer equipment. CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machinists are responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining all equipment used in their daily activities. This role ensures that all setups and manufacturing requiring the use of CNC Mills or Lathes, including Screw Machines, are carried out to meet both customer and ISO standard requirements. Programming experience is a significant plus. Swiss Screw machine experience is required.
This position is located in Santa Cruz, a vibrant coastal city in California known for its stunning beaches, redwood forests, and a strong sense of community. Enjoy a lively cultural scene and outdoor activities in a picturesque setting.
Responsibilities
Ensure that jobs are produced to the appropriate specifications and quality policies and procedures.
Perform complete, independent setups, select tooling, install bar feeders, and set work/tool offsets.
Set up, adjust, and maintain all equipment used in daily job activities.
Operate machines in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Maximize machine uptime and part yield.
Perform prescribed checks, including startup and shutdown, on assigned machines.
Report and/or correct any discrepancies found during checks.
Maintain a log of events for assigned machines.
Perform and record all in-process inspections on parts as required, and report and correct discrepancies.
Maintain or report deviations from standard cycle or setup time for jobs.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications
Proficiency in measuring parts using tools such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gauges, etc.
Ability and willingness to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to recognize when to seek help or guidance.
Proficiency in using an eye-loop and/or a microscope at 5x magnification.
Dexterity to handle small parts successfully.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and data.
