The CNC Machinist will set up and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and able to work independently while maintaining production schedules and dimensional accuracy. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machine shop equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Set up tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding. Load programs and make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain part dimensions. Inspect finished and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment. Verify dimensions and tolerances according to engineering drawings. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections. Identify tooling, machining, or dimensional issues and make appropriate adjustments. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Follow work orders, routers, drawings, and manufacturing instructions. Meet production schedules while maintaining required quality standards. Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Assist with troubleshooting machining issues and improving machining processes. Communicate material, tooling, drawing, or production issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follow all company safety and quality procedures. Perform additional machine shop duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous CNC machining experience required. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience setting up and operating CNC machines. Strong understanding of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining processes. Ability to use precision measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Good mechanical and problem-solving skills. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Experience Aerospace, defense, electronics, or precision manufacturing experience. Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes. Experience with multi-axis CNC equipment. Experience with CNC programming or editing G-code. Familiarity with GD&T and tight-tolerance machining. Experience working from BOMs, work orders, routers, and engineering drawings. Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, steel, plastics, and other machining materials. Experience with inspection equipment and documentation. What We're Looking For We are looking for a hands-on machinist who can take ownership of their work, produce quality parts, and keep production moving. The successful candidate should be comfortable working from engineering drawings, setting up machines, making tooling and offset adjustments, and inspecting their own work. Quality, accuracy, safety, and meeting production schedules are critical to this position.
