Job Title:
Manual Machinist (Lathe-Focused) Job Description This role focuses on setting up and operating manual machining equipment, with a strong emphasis on manual lathes and some work on manual mills. You will use your machining expertise to produce precise parts in an indoor manufacturing environment while working on the afternoon to evening shift. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes to produce parts according to specifications and blueprints. Set up and operate manual mills as needed to support production requirements. Interpret and work from engineering blueprints and drawings to determine machining requirements. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for each job. Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area around machines and equipment. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating manual machining equipment. Essential Skills Hands-on experience setting up and operating manual lathes. Hands-on experience setting up and operating manual mills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong understanding of manual machining processes and practices. Proficiency in using standard machining tools and measurement instruments. Ability to work independently on assigned machining tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in an indoor manufacturing or machine shop environment. Experience operating and setting up various types of manual machining equipment. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in an indoor manufacturing facility with manual lathes and manual mills as primary equipment. You work on 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., operating and setting up manual machines in a production-focused environment. The facility is designed for machining operations, with standard shop noise levels and typical industrial safety practices in place. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tulare, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
