Job Description

Position Overview In this job you will run a Haas ST-10 lathe. What You Will Do Run the lathe. Read drawings and set up the machine. Hold tight tolerances. Bring and use your own tools. Do your own setups. This includes touching off tools, calling out programs, and setting offsets. Know how to use measuring tools: drop indicators, micrometers, gages, and pitch mic. Inspect parts while you work (in-process) and when they are finished. Bore your own jaws. Hold +/- .0005". Know the tools used in the machine: threaders, relievers, turning tools, boring bars, and ID & OD tools. Deburr using a buffer and a spindle. Skills You Need (Hard Skills) Read machine drawings. Be familiar with SolidWorks or Fusion or similar software. Understand manufacturing and shop/machining language and call outs. Know machining processes and how a factory or manufacturing shop works. Programming or engineering experience is a PLUS. How You Work (Soft Skills) Pay close attention to detail and follow instructions. Handle more than one task at a time and work well in a fast-paced shop. Finish your work on time and meet deadlines. Be a self-starter and solve problems on your own. Be flexible and adapt to change. Be reliable, work hard, and be a good team player. Work mostly on your own and produce high-quality, precise parts with as little scrap as possible.
Work Schedule First Shift:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Wages & Benefits Competitive hourly pay. 1 week of vacation to start — you earn more time the longer you stay. 6 sick days per year (48 hours). Paid holidays.
Medical insurance:
the company pays 80% for the employee. You can add dependents, a spouse, or partner at your own cost.
Dental insurance:
the company pays 90% for the employee. You can add dependents, a spouse, or partner at your own cost.
Vision benefits:
optional, available at a small cost to you. 401(k) profit sharing (at least 3% from Spectron) once you are eligible.
