Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Machinist Job Description As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete machining process. This includes machine setup, programming adjustments, tooling selection, precision part production, inspection, troubleshooting, and process optimization. You will work independently to manufacture complex components, all while supporting production goals, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and optimize CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers. Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and work instructions. Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets to ensure efficient production. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues to minimize downtime. Make program edits and machine adjustments to improve cycle times and part quality. Verify material requirements and ensure compliance with customer specifications. Maintain detailed production, inspection, and maintenance records. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve manufacturing processes. Support new product launches through process development and setup validation. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S workplace organization. Train and mentor CNC operators and less experienced machinists. Essential Skills Troubleshooting Lathe and mill operation G code programming CNC machine operation Mechanical skills Blueprint reading System layout understanding Calipers and micrometer usage Haas CNC operation SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency GD&T knowledge Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in CAD/CAM software Experience with offsets and changeovers Knowledge in braiding and machining Familiarity with CNC equipment Why Work Here? Work Environment Our facility operates across three shifts: 1st shift (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). The work environment is collaborative and safety-focused, with a commitment to maintaining quality standards and a well-organized workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
