Job Title:
CNC Mill Machinist Job Description This role is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient, high-quality production and supporting the overall success of the manufacturing process in a machine shop environment. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on CNC milling machines, including tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning to ensure optimal machine performance. Inspect finished parts for quality, precision, and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, adjusting programs, tooling, or machine settings as needed to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime. Handle castings and ensure proper fixturing and machining of large or complex components. Adhere to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Document production and quality data, including part dimensions, tool usage, and machine performance, for reporting and quality assurance purposes. Perform changeovers and setups on mills, lathes, and related equipment to support production requirements. Operate related shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, and horizontal mills as needed. Collaborate with team members to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
