CNC Mill Machinist Job Description A family-owned machining shop is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join their team in Eastpoint. This is an opportunity to work in a clean environment with newer machinery. The shop specializes in creating tooling for cold header/fastener machines and serves the construction and aerospace industries. As a job shop, no two jobs are the same, and they produce between 50 to 60 million parts annually. Responsibilities Operate Hurco Mill Machines and perform mastercam edits and conversational edits. Manage all aspects of the machine from start to finish, including setup, tool changes, offsets, and running the machine. Read and interpret blueprints accurately. Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gages. Work primarily with steel materials and ensure tight tolerances are maintained. Bring experience from a prototype or similar job shop environment. Essential Skills A minimum of 6 years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist, particularly with Hurco Mills. Proficiency in setting up, changing tools, making offsets, and running the machine. Capability to perform program edits using mastercam software. Strong blueprint reading skills. Experience using measurement tools like mics, calipers, and bore gages to maintain tight tolerances. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with 3-5 Axis machining. Proficiency in Mastercam Programming or other CAD/CAM software. Conversational programming skills from scratch. Experience in tooling for fasteners. Why Work Here? Expect to work between 45 to 55 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eastpointe, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
