Experience with Haas CNC equipment, Mastercam, ESPRIT, multi-axis machining, and GF/Agie Charmilles wire EDM is highly valued. This position is ideal for a self-directed CNC professional who can take a machining job from print and planning through programming, setup, machining, inspection, and completion. What You'll Do Write CNC programs for mills, lathes, and wire EDM equipment Edit and troubleshoot existing CNC programs as needed Create and document new programs and program modifications using CAM software Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools Operate a variety of equipment including: CNC Mills CNC Lathes Manual Mills and Lathes Grinders Wire EDM Work with 4+ axis CNC machines Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical instructions, specifications, and GD&T Inspect finished parts and assemblies using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment Write machining setup and inspection procedures Design and build fixtures to improve machining efficiency and part quality Plan and kit machining jobs Troubleshoot machining and programming issues Document work activities through the company's CMMS system Maintain accurate written and verbal communication regarding machining activities Help maintain parts Kanban throughout the shop and factory floor Support New Product Development and Continuous Improvement initiatives Identify and implement solutions that improve quality, productivity, and efficiency Mentor and train other CNC machinists Work with engineering, production, quality, and other manufacturing teams to meet production goals Follow all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and regulations Participate in applicable EHS programs and maintain a safe, clean work environment Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to quality Perform other related duties as assigned CNC Programming & Machining Experience The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with: CNC programming CNC setup and operation CNC milling CNC turning / lathes Wire EDM Manual machining CAM programming Mastercam and/or ESPRIT Multi-axis machining Fixture design Tool selection and setup Blueprint reading GD&T Precision inspection and measurement High-mix, low-volume manufacturing Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required NIMS Level II Certification required 7+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment preferred Experience programming and operating CNC mills and lathes Haas CNC experience preferred Wire EDM experience preferred GF/Agie Charmilles wire EDM experience preferred Experience with 4+ axis CNC machines preferred Experience with Mastercam and/or ESPRIT preferred Applicable AAS degree, technical certification, or advanced machining education preferred Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machining best practices Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerancing Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in a self-directed manufacturing environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required What We're Looking For We're looking for more than someone who can simply run a CNC machine. This position is suited for a well-rounded CNC Programmer / Machinist who can: Program → Set Up → Machine → Inspect → Troubleshoot → Improve You should be comfortable taking ownership of a machining job, reading the print, determining the best machining approach, developing or modifying the program, setting up the equipment, producing the part, and verifying that it meets specifications.
