Job Description

Harbert Casting Repair Service is a small, family-owned machine shop in Denver, Colorado. We are looking for an experienced Machinist to join our team. We perform a wide variety of repair and custom machining work, so this position is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities include:
Perform machine setups and operate manual and CNC equipment. Read and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Plan machine setups based on verbal and written instructions. Select proper tooling and determine appropriate speeds and feeds. Produce high-quality machined parts to required specifications and tolerances. Measure and inspect parts using standard precision measuring equipment. Follow all shop safety requirements and procedures. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area. Monitor machine shop tooling and supplies and advise when additional tools or supplies are needed. Work on a variety of repair and custom machining jobs.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of machining experience. Experience operating milling machines, lathes, band saws, and other common machine shop equipment. Experience with TRAK / Southwestern Industries milling machines and lathes is highly preferred. Experience with TRAK controls, including conversational programming, setup, and operation, is a plus. Ability to operate both manual and CNC equipment. Ability to perform machine setups independently. Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings. Ability to use precision measuring tools and inspect your own work. Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform basic shop math, including fractions, decimals, and conversions between the two. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be punctual, dependable, and organized. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and have technical discussions in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Day shift Harbert Casting Repair Service offers the opportunity to work in a small-shop environment where you will handle a variety of machining and repair projects rather than running the same production parts every day. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and wants to be part of a dependable, experienced team.
