Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure the highest quality standards are met while optimizing production efficiency. Duties Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls and CAM programming software to produce complex parts with precision. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance. Select appropriate tooling and fixtures, set machine parameters, and execute machining operations in accordance with safety protocols and manufacturing specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop or improve CNC programs using SolidWorks, CAD software, and other design tools. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction within machining operations. Qualifications Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or CNC Machinist Specialist with a strong understanding of CNC programming, setup, and operation. Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T specifications, and mechanical drawings. Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and assembly procedures is a plus. Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CAM programming software, SolidWorks, CAD software, and basic math skills for precise calculations. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, tooling equipment, forklift trucks safely within a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of manufacturing processes including machining on CNC milling machines and lathes.
