The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers. We are currently looking for a Machinist. This role includes programming, editing, and performing complex set ups and operate various metal working equipment to produce precision machined components to print as instructed by lead or supervision. Responsible to write, create, and test CNC programs. Ensure the produced CNC programs are optimized. Performs adjustments to adhere to established specifications or revisions. Monitor machining times and optimize it from time to time by recommending new machining techniques and methods to refine existing programs to programmers. Maintain the jigs and fixture. Demonstrate a full commitment to work closely with machinists, programmers, and machine shop supervisors. Keep machinery and work area in a clean, safe, maintained, and organized. Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs. Improve on product through-put via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible. Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Essex and its customers. Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
8+ years of machine shop experience and 2-year trade school completion; or equivalent demonstrated proficiency. Why Choose Essex?
