VTL Machinist 2nd Shift
Job Description
We have a live opportunity for a VTL Machinist (Vertical Turret Lathe) to join a leading aerospace manufacturing company based close to Newington, CT. Due to continued growth, our client is actively seeking a motivated and experienced VTL Machinist to join their industry-leading business. The successful candidate will primarily set up and operate Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL) within a high-precision manufacturing environment. Responsibilities for the
VTL Machinist:
Independently set up and operate Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) machining operations without supervision Perform precision machining on large, complex components to tight tolerances Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to plan operations Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal machining performance Identify and implement improvements in tooling, cutting methods, and machining processes Ensure high-quality output by preventing defects and identifying non-conformances in real time Communicate quality issues and recommend corrective actions to management Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, TPM, kaizen, and setup reduction projects Experience for theVTL Machinist:
Proven experience setting up and operating Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL) independently Strong understanding of machining large components and working to tight tolerances Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Experience with tooling selection, cutting methods, and machining best practices Experience identifying and resolving machining errors or non-conformances Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, TPM, Kaizen) Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments (preferred) Hours and Pay Rates for theVTL Machinist:
2ndShift Only:
3:30 PM - 12:00AM Pay Range:
$29.27 - $30.93 per hourShift Differential:
