Location:
Portland, Connecticut CNC Machinist Lead - Aerospace Manufacturing, Portland, CT, $35.00 - $42.00 per hour (based on experience) Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking to take the next step in your career? Join a growing aerospace manufacturer where your leadership, technical expertise, and attention to detail will make a direct impact on the production of complex, high-precision aerospace components. We are seeking a CNC Machinist Lead to support daily operations, mentor machinists, and help drive quality and productivity across multiple manufacturing cells. Responsibilities:
Operate CNC and other manufacturing equipment to produce complex aerospace components. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications. Ensure finished parts meet tight tolerance and quality requirements. Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, indicators, and gauge blocks. Troubleshoot machining issues and support process improvements. Lead, train, and mentor machinists while promoting best practices and continuous improvement. Maintain accurate production and quality records while adhering to safety standards.
Desired Background/Skills:
8+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace or other precision manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading. Experience working with precision measuring equipment. Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience. Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. High school diploma or equivalent.
