Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electron Beam Operator to join our advanced manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining electron beam welding equipment used in high-precision metal fabrication processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of top-quality components by adhering to strict safety standards and technical specifications. You will be required to pass welding qualifications tests to D17.1 in all alloy groups before hire. Must pass a per employment t drug test to FAA requirements. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor electron beam welding machines to produce high-quality metal parts according to detailed technical drawings and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly Perform precision measurements using specialized measuring instruments to verify component dimensions and quality during production Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures throughout all machining and welding processes Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electron beam equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to review process parameters, improve workflows, and ensure compliance with industry standards Utilize CNC programming skills for controlling related machinery such as CNC milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, and press brakes as needed Qualifications Proven experience operating electron beam welding equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints accurately Proficiency in CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, and other machining tools Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for precise measurement and quality control Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) for quality inspection Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols for machine operation Skilled in machine setup, tooling adjustments, sheet metal fabrication, forming machines, welding techniques, and assembly processes Mechanical aptitude combined with shop math skills for accurate measurement calculations and process adjustments Valid certifications or training related to crane operation, safety protocol adherence, or specialized machining is a plus Join our team as an Electron Beam Operator where your precision skills will drive innovation in metal fabrication!
