In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC Lathes (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality parts that meet strict specifications. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. Responsibilities Set up CNC lathes, ensuring proper calibration and tooling installation Program CNC lathes using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce complex parts with precision Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and tolerances Perform manual machining tasks when necessary to support production or prototype development Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, verify part dimensions and adherence to specifications Maintain accurate documentation of machine setups, production runs, and inspection results for quality control purposes Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, adjusting tools or parameters to minimize downtime while ensuring safety standards are met Requirements Proven experience operating CNC lathes; familiarity with Fanuc and Omni controls is a plus Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical blueprint interpretation Proficiency in CNC programming using G-code, M-code, and CAM software like SolidWorks or CAD for toolpath creation Knowledge of machining tools, measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques in manufacturing environments Ability to perform machine setup, calibration, and basic math calculations related to machining tolerances Mechanical knowledge with experience in manual machining, and grinding is a plus.
