Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
SENIOR CNC LATHE MACHINIST
to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC lathe machines with precision and efficiency to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and CNC programming will drive the success of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects, improve machining operations, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Operate and program CNC lathe machines using G-code and M-code to produce precise components according to technical specifications. Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices, ensuring optimal performance for each job. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications accurately to guide machining processes. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Perform machining tasks such as turning, threading, drilling, and boring when necessary to support production needs. Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production runs, inspection results, and quality control records. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly by diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems and implementing effective solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAM programming (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) using SolidWorks or CAD software for complex parts. Ensure all operations comply with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Requirements Proven experience as a CNC lathe machinist with a strong background in CNC programming (G-code/M-code) and machine setup. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications. Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators for quality inspection. Familiarity with CAM programming software like SolidWorks or CAD for designing or modifying parts for CNC machining. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for manufacturing purposes. Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for machining dimensions and tolerances. Experience with measurement in quality control environments ensuring parts meet strict specifications. Strong understanding of CNC machine operation including machine setup, tooling selection, M-code programming, and troubleshooting. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in metal machining processes. Pay:
$27.38 - $35.00 per hour
