Myers Automotive & Industrial Supply is looking for an experienced Automotive Machinist / Machine Shop Manager to take charge of our automotive machine shop in Fort Myers Florida. We are looking for someone who is highly skilled, dependable, and able to work independently , while also managing the day-to-day operation of the machine shop. Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the automotive machine shop
- Perform engine machining and rebuilding services
- Machine and rebuild cylinder heads and engine blocks
- Bore, hone, deck and surface engine blocks
- Resurface cylinder heads and flywheels
- Perform valve jobs and related cylinder-head work
- Install valve guides and seats as needed
- Measure and inspect engine components to precise specifications
- Operate and maintain machine-shop equipment
- Maintain quality control and ensure work is completed accurately
- Order and maintain machine-shop supplies and inventory
- Communicate with customers, technicians and the parts department
- Keep the shop organized, clean and operating safely What We're Looking For
- Experienced automotive machinist
- Strong knowledge of internal-combustion engines
- Experience with automotive machining equipment and procedures
- Ability to accurately measure and work to specifications
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage shop workflow and prioritize jobs
