Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, measurement, and machining tools will ensure the highest quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects, utilizing your technical skills and mechanical knowledge to deliver exceptional results. Duties Operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce precision parts. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication. Set up and calibrate machines, including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments for precise machining. Perform machine setup procedures, including tooling selection, M-code (machine code) input, and adjustments for optimal operation. Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools and gauges to verify part dimensions and adherence to specifications. Maintain detailed records of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results for quality control purposes. Assist with assembly tasks as needed, ensuring components fit correctly and meet manufacturing standards. Skills Proficiency in manual machining techniques with experience operating lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and manufacturing drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge including understanding of tooling setup, machine calibration, and metal properties. Experience with measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and precision measuring instruments for quality control. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters. Ability to interpret GD&T specifications for precise manufacturing processes. Knowledge of manufacturing standards related to metal machining and quality inspection procedures. Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity for precise work. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members on complex projects.
