Shop Helper / Machinist Trainee Double J Machining Largo, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $15 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Maintaining an organized workspace Removing debris Manufacturing facilities cleaning Packing Mops Manual packaging Blueprint reading Room tidying Welding Construction experience Mechanical knowledge Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description We are a growing CNC machine shop looking for a dependable, motivated person who wants to work hard and learn a skilled trade. No machining experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is mechanically inclined, and wants to learn CNC machining and manufacturing. Starting Responsibilities Keep the shop and work areas clean and organized Take out trash and handle general shop cleanup Sweep and mop floors as needed Clean CNC machines and remove chips Help organize tooling, material, and supplies Deburr and clean finished parts Help with packaging and preparing completed jobs Assist machinists with basic shop tasks Opportunity to Learn As you become comfortable in the shop, we will begin teaching you: How CNC machines operate Basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Blueprint reading Part inspection Tooling and workholding CNC machine setup Basic machining and eventually CNC operation We are looking for someone who wants more than just a temporary job. The goal is to find someone who can start as a shop helper and develop into a skilled CNC machinist. What We're Looking For Dependable and shows up on time Good attitude and willing to learn Comfortable working with your hands Able to stay busy without constant supervision Takes pride in keeping things clean and organized Mechanically inclined is a plus Previous shop, automotive, construction, welding, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required
Experience:
No CNC experience required — we will train the right person.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
