We are seeking a Manual/CNC Tool & Prototype Maker to support a prototype machine shop by manufacturing precision prototype parts, tooling, jigs, molds, and fixtures. The role requires hands-on experience with manual mills , CNC machining , blueprint reading , and close collaboration with engineering teams to produce high-quality components. Responsibilities Operate manual mills and CNC mills , set up tooling, cutters, drills, and machine parameters. Program 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines using CAM software or G-Code . Read engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and CAD models to fabricate precision parts. Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks . Build, repair, and modify tools, dies, molds, fixtures, and jigs using hand and machine tools. Perform preventive maintenance , troubleshoot tooling issues, and coordinate with engineers on prototype development. Select appropriate metals, alloys, plastics, and ceramics based on machining requirements. Qualifications 2+ years of Manual/CNC machining experience in a prototype or tool room environment. Proficiency with manual mills , CNC mills , tooling, speeds & feeds , and precision measurement equipment . Experience programming 3-axis/5-axis CNC machines , Hurco , Mitsubishi Wire EDM , Amada Turret Punch Press , or Amada Brake Press . Knowledge of CAD/CAM (SolidWorks, Mastercam) , G-Code , blueprint reading , and fixture/prototype/tool building . Strong problem-solving, communication, PC skills, and ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
Pay:
$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
