Magic Valley Heli-Arc & Manufacturing designs and builds equipment for the global aquaculture and fisheries industry. We are hiring an experienced Machinist to produce precise, high-quality parts in a fast-paced shop where good ideas are put to work. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering documentation Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments Select tools, materials, and machines for each job Set up, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and work-pieces Machine parts to specification on manual and CNC lathes, mills, water-jet systems, and CNC routers Operate a manual lathe and work with Haas controls Monitor machines during operation, diagnose problems, and make adjustments or repairs Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality Layout and mark stock for cutting and shaping as required Qualifications Proven CNC and manual machining experience Experience operating a manual lathe Familiarity with Haas controls preferred Strong working knowledge of machining principles, tooling, and materials Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints High standard of accuracy, workmanship, and attention to detail Able to work independently and as part of a team Work environment This is a hands-on manufacturing role in a shop that values craftsmanship, reliability, and practical problem-solving.
