Duties Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools to produce complex components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Fanuc controls to ensure precise operations. Set up machinery by installing tooling, calibrating equipment with precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements. Conduct quality inspections utilizing measurement tools for precision measurement in machining and ensure parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Perform machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments during production runs to optimize performance. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining clean workstations, reducing waste, and streamlining processes for maximum efficiency. Assist with manual machining tasks such as lathe work or grinding when necessary to supplement CNC operations. Participate in machine setup and changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime while maintaining safety protocols. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes involving plastics injection molding or welding when required for component integration. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery including CNC lathes and milling machines; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred. Strong knowledge of CNC programming using G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming software such as SolidWorks or CAD is highly desirable. Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings accurately for precise manufacturing. Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, machine calibration, and basic math skills essential for precision work. Experience working with various materials such as metals and plastics within a manufacturing environment; knowledge of metal machining processes is a plus. Ability to perform machine setup independently while adhering to safety standards; welding or power tool experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Knowledge of GD&T principles for quality inspection ensures parts meet strict specifications consistently.
