Job Title:

CNC Machinist Job Description This role focuses on setting up, operating, and changing over CNC machinery in a large manufacturing environment. You will work with lathes and mills, interpret blueprints, perform precision measurements, and ensure high-quality production of parts on either first or second shift. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and change over CNC machinery to meet production requirements. Adjust work offsets, tool offsets, and perform basic G-code manipulations to ensure accurate machining. Operate Mazak and Moriseki 3-axis lathes to produce precision components. Operate Hurco and Mazak mills in accordance with job specifications and production schedules. Interpret and follow engineering blueprints and technical drawings to machine parts to specification. Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Perform quality checks on parts throughout the machining process to maintain consistent quality standards. Change out tooling on machinery as needed to support different jobs and maintain optimal machine performance. Support efficient changeovers between jobs to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area within the production line environment. Essential Skills At least 3+ years of CNC machinist experience. Hands-on experience setting up and changing over CNC machinery. Proficiency operating Mazak and Moriseki 3-axis lathes. Proficiency operating Hurco and Mazak mills. Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings. Strong ability to use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Experience performing quality checks on machined parts. Ability to adjust work offsets and tool offsets and perform basic G-code manipulations. Experience with grinding operations related to machining. Solid understanding of general machine operating practices in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with changeovers on multiple types of CNC machines. Experience in grinder operation within a machining environment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize CNC programs and tooling setups. Comfort working with various metals and materials in a production setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to work effectively on either first or second shift as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a large manufacturing facility with established production lines and multiple CNC machines, including Mazak and Moriseki lathes and Hurco and Mazak mills. Openings are available on both first and second shift, with first shift running Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and second shift running Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Second shift includes a 10% shift differential. The environment is production-focused, with regular overtime opportunities and a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and teamwork.
