Job Description

Machine Builder
  • Industrial Automation (1st Shift)
Location:
Itasca, IL Pay:
$25/hr
  • $35/hr+ (Based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday, 6:00 AM
  • 2:30 PM Plenty of Overtime
  • Up to 20 hours/week + optional
Saturdays Type:
Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

What You'll Be Doing:
Assemble custom industrial automated machinery using engineering drawings and schematics Install & align components including: Frame assemblies Drive mechanisms, motors, shafts Pneumatic & hydraulic systems Sensors, guarding, bearings, and rolls Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, pi-tapes) Perform functional tests, make adjustments, and verify accuracy and tolerance Operate forklifts and overhead cranes for part movement and rigging Collaborate with the team to improve processes and hit project milestones Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Assist in shipping & receiving, tool maintenance, and shop upkeep
Who We're Looking For:
Must-Haves:
2+ years of experience as a machine builder, assembler, or mechanical technician in an OEM or automation setting Strong mechanical aptitude and assembly experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics Experience with precision tools and mechanical layout Comfortable lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and standing for long periods Forklift & crane operation skills (certifications a plus) Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays Great communicator and team player
Nice-to-Haves:
Associate degree, trade school, or technical certification Experience assembling equipment for data centers or heavy industry Background in maintenance or service tech roles
