2nd Shift Picture your 2nd-shift routine: you review a fresh set of prints, choose the right tooling, dial in the press brake, and form parts to spec—first-piece passes inspection, in-process checks stay tight, and another on-time order leaves at zero defects. If that scene feels familiar, you'll fit right in at Weller Metalworks' fast-paced manufacturing floor. What you'll do Set up and run press brake equipment, selecting/adjusting tooling and dies for each job. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to achieve exact customer specifications. Form, process, and verify metal components to precise measurements. Use tape measures, calipers, and gauges with confidence and accuracy. Complete first-article and in-process inspections, documenting results as needed. Champion a zero-defect mindset and rigorous quality standards. Follow all safety procedures and company policies every step of the way. Flag issues or nonconformances promptly to supervisors for quick resolution. Must-have qualifications (non‑negotiable) Proven experience operating a press brake in a manufacturing environment. Blueprint reading and interpretation skills are required. Strong measurement abilities and basic math (fractions and decimals). Mechanical aptitude with sharp attention to detail. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently. High School Diploma or GED. Physical demands Stand for the duration of the shift. Bend, twist, reach, and walk throughout the workday. Lift up to 35 lbs. Nice to have GD&T familiarity.
