Job Description
seeking an experienced CNC Mill Set-Up Programmer to join our Plant 3 team on 1st shift. This role programs, sets up, and operates horizontal CNC milling equipment to produce precision-machined turbine and power generation components, working from blueprints and engineering specifications to hold tight tolerances on high-value parts. Candidates with direct horizontal machining center experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate horizontal CNC milling machines to machine precision parts for steam and gas turbine applications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications to determine machining sequence and setup.
- Develop, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs (G-code and/or CAM-based programming) for horizontal milling operations.
- Select proper tooling, fixtures, and work-holding methods for each job.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, adjusting speeds, feeds, and offsets as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with shift leads and quality personnel regarding job status and any part discrepancies. Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC mill set-up and programming experience.
- Experience on horizontal CNC machines required.
- Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
- Solid understanding of G-code and/or CAM-based programming.
- Ability to work independently on 1st shift with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in turbine, power generation, or heavy industrial machining a plus #zip
