Manual Machinist responsible for setting up and operating manual machining equipment to produce metal and non-metal components according to specifications and dimensional requirements. Job Requirements Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with 2+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience setting up and operating manual machining equipment. Experience cutting, shaping, or forming metal workpieces within established production standards. Ability to read and interpret machining specifications, setup instructions, diagrams, and schedules. Basic math skills, including geometry and algebra. Ability to read and understand English-language work instructions and technical documentation. Experience measuring machined components for conformance to specifications. Experience adjusting machine feeds, speeds, tooling, and cutters. Preferred Skills Experience machining composites, plastics, and rubber. Experience troubleshooting manual machining operations. Experience identifying worn or damaged cutting tools. Experience performing machine setup adjustments and tooling changes. Experience working with dimensional inspection equipment. Job Responsibilities Review specifications to determine machine setup procedures, machining sequences, and finished dimensions. Set up and operate manual machining equipment. Perform machine adjustments, attachments, and assemblies according to setup instructions. Assemble cutting tools into toolholders and position tooling in machine spindles or magazines. Monitor machine operation for worn tooling, equipment malfunctions, and process issues. Measure finished workpieces to verify compliance with dimensional specifications. Report dimensional discrepancies to Quality Control. Adjust machine feeds and speeds as required. Replace or modify cutting tools when programming or machine conditions require adjustments. Machine metal components according to production specifications. Machine non-metal materials including composites, plastics, and rubber.
Pay:
