In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint interpretation, and measurement will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety and efficiency protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment and contribute to the production of complex parts with precision and consistency. Responsibilities Set up CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, calibration, and safety measures are in place before production begins Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications and tolerances Operate manual machining tools when necessary for prototype or small-batch work, including grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and hand tools Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions during and after machining Conduct machine setup adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality output in accordance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection techniques and measurement in accordance with manufacturing specifications Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime while maintaining safety standards and operational efficiency Maintain detailed records of machine setups, production runs, inspection results, and maintenance activities Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming is essential Strong knowledge of CAM software such as MasterCam or similar tools for for creating efficient machining programs Skilled in operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machining tools for diverse manufacturing tasks Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) specifications Mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling selection, machine setup procedures Basic math skills for calculating measurements, feed rates, speeds, and tolerances during setup and operation Experience with measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, and precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes Knowledge of safety protocols related to machine operation and handling power tools in a manufacturing environment Join our team as a CNC Machinist if you thrive on precision craftsmanship!
