Job Description
Babbitting Service Inc in West Allis, WI is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist to produce precision components for custom babbitt bearings. You will set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines, interpret blueprints, and maintain tight tolerances for power generation, marine, and heavy industry applications. Responsibilities include tool selection, inspection using gauges and micrometers, troubleshooting machining issues, and routine machine maintenance. Join a small, experienced team focused on quality, safety, and craftsmanship in a specialized, high-precision trade. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines for precision babbitt bearing components Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine machine operations Program or edit CNC programs and adjust offsets to maintain tolerances Select tooling, set speeds and feeds, and perform test runs Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure quality Maintain tight tolerances for power, marine, and heavy industry applications Perform routine machine maintenance and minor troubleshooting Handle and fixture large industrial components safely Document work performed and follow quality and safety procedures Collaborate with a small team to meet production and delivery schedules Required Skills CNC milling setup and operation G-code or CNC programming Blueprint and technical drawing reading Use of micrometers, calipers, and gauges Precision measurement and tolerance control Tool selection and offsets adjustment Machine troubleshooting and basic repair Material handling for industrial components Surface finishing and deburring Shop math and machining calculations
