at Mike's, Inc. in South Roxana, Illinois, United States Job Description The Manual Machinist operates under direct supervision to skillfully weld, machine, cut, and shape metal parts using various welding and machinist equipment. This role supports a medium team of 6-15 members and is involved in new equipment fabrication, repairs, maintenance, and diverse projects requiring precision metalworking. The machinist utilizes standard machine shop tools including manual lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and band saws, traveling 10-30% of the time to support work at different locations. Responsibilities Prepare objects for welding by preheating, cleaning, positioning, and clamping parts Design, repair, and fabricate machine components as required Maintain and repair pumps, motors, shafts, rudders, and utility equipment systems Perform electric arc, MIG, TIG, and acetylene welding on various equipment and structures Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications Maintain, clean, and repair welding and machinist equipment Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and band saws to shape parts Inspect, measure, and test completed parts for defects and conformance to specifications Perform record keeping and inspection related to equipment maintenance Travel as required to perform duties in various locations (10-30% travel) To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
