Tool Room Engineer/Machinist

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
A DOT America Tool Room Engineer/Machinist is responsible for the fabrication/manufacturing of new fixturing/work holding by working closely with the Engineering team. A Tool Room Engineer will also be expected to work within deadlines to support the production floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Create programs for both 2-axis CNC lathes and 3-axis CNC mills.
  • Operate CNC lathes & CNC mills.
  • Manage tool room raw material & tooling inventories.
  • Supply the engineering team with design for manufacturing feedback along with other design inputs.
  • Maintain weekly requirements for the production floor.
  • Assist in the maintenance of production aids.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • CNC lathe/mill programming (Mastercam)
  • Experience using MasterCAM and Solidworks (preferred but not required)
  • CNC lathe/mill operation
  • Manual lathe operation
  • Blueprint reading and knowledge of GD&T
  • Able to utilize measurement devices
  • Tig welding (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work independently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to speak and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand; walk; utilize hands to hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The team member will need to work safely with toxic, acidic, and caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
TRAVEL:
The position may require domestic and international travel up to 20% of schedule.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary and bonus potential shall be commensurate with education and experience. DOT America offers a comprehensive benefit plan including employer supported health insurance, dental, and retirement.

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
