Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will operate a variety of metal fabrication equipment, including laser cutting tables, plasma cutters, CNC machines, and brake presses. This role is ideal for a self-starter who takes initiative, communicates well, and is comfortable pitching in on general shop duties when not operating machinery. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation Set up, operate, and monitor laser cutting tables, plasma cutters, CNC machines, and brake presses in accordance with production schedules and job specifications Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to ensure parts are produced to specification Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently Perform quality checks on finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.) to ensure tolerances are met Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity Perform basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning on equipment; report mechanical issues promptly General Shop Duties (When Not Operating Machinery) Assist with material handling, staging, and organizing of raw materials and finished goods Conduct inventory counts and support inventory reconciliation to ensure accurate stock records Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in line with shop safety standards Assist other departments and team members as needed to keep production moving Support shipping/receiving, packaging, and labeling tasks as required Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required Post-secondary education in machining, metal fabrication, or a related field considered an asset Forklift certification considered an asset (training available) Red Seal or trade certification (General Machinist, Metal Fabricator) an asset but not required Previous experience operating laser tables, plasma cutters, CNC equipment, and/or brake presses is required Proficiency with small hand tools and power tools Basic machine maintenance knowledge is considered an asset Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work Experience with inventory counts and inventory reconciliation is an asset Excellent communication skills; able to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments A self-starter who takes initiative, identifies what needs to be done, and follows through without constant supervision Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs Strong commitment to workplace safety and following safety procedures Join our team if you're passionate about precision machining and metal fabrication! Pay:
$24.65 - $29.69 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
