Job Title:
Machinist Job Description We are seeking an experienced Machinist with a strong background in manual machining, CNC setup, and tool and die repair. In this role, you will support the fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of stamping dies, forming dies, fixtures, and precision tooling used throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Build, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain stamping and forming dies to support reliable production operations. Machine and fabricate fixtures, tooling, and weld assemblies to meet engineering and production requirements. Perform manual machining operations using mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment to produce precision components. Operate and set up CNC equipment as needed to manufacture and modify tooling and parts. Utilize Wire EDM and surface grinding equipment to manufacture, rework, and repair tooling and die components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure all parts meet required dimensions and tolerances. Support preventative maintenance activities and tooling improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and tool life. Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship on all tooling and machined components. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues and improve manufacturing processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience machining and fabricating fixtures, tooling, and weld assemblies. Familiarity with stamping dies, forming dies, and related tooling used in manufacturing. Comfort with changeover activities and adjusting tooling for different production runs. Ability to support preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives for tooling and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy machine shop setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a machine shop environment with a climate-controlled facility that maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the year. You will work with mills, lathes, grinders, CNC machines, Wire EDM, and surface grinding equipment in a production-oriented setting. The role follows a first-shift schedule, typically around 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexibility in start times and days to accommodate personal needs. Standard shop attire and appropriate safety gear are expected, and you will operate within a structured, well-organized workspace focused on precision, safety, and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kentland, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
