SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manufactures parts, primarily from plastic, stainless steel, aluminum and mild steel, utilizing various equipment and hand tools per engineering drawings. Ensures parts are manufactured in a timely manner which meets or exceeds the customers' expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following. Machinist

• Ability to complete machine set-ups and operate machines- basic manual lathe, mill, table saw, automatic saw, drill press & band saw.
• Ability to complete first part inspection of multi part runs
• Ability to maintain appropriate tooling on hand
• Ability to maintain equipment in the machine shop area
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers, blueprints
• Ability to accurately report time to job orders
• Ability to close work orders/sequences in a timely manner
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
• Ability to work in an efficient and safe manner Machinist Supervisor (In addition to the requirements of Machinist #1)
• Ability to complete machine set-ups and operate machines- CNC mill programming
• Ability to maintain required finish parts
• Ability to complete first and last part inspection of multi part runs
• Ability to maintain appropriate tooling on hand
• Ability to maintain equipment in the machine shop area
• Ability to read bore gauges
• Ability to work to the schedule to ensure flow of jobs as appropriate

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job supervises the machinists. Manager is responsible for overall direction, coordination, motivation and periodic evaluations of associates including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance, addressing concerns and resolving problems.

EXPERIENCE

High school degree or equivalent; plus a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER / PC SKILLS

Associate must possess literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Mail / Exchange, as well as, an ability to learn and promote the development of our ERP system.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret and apply technical data, drawings and reports to the manufacture of change parts as would be expected within the packaging and operations profession.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply common mathematical concepts required, including concepts such as addition, subtract, division, multiplication, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical operational situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect appropriate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS A

professional certification is not required.
