Description Are you an experienced CNC Machinist ready for a role where you can put your skills to work—not just push a button? A&K Railroad Materials is looking for a CNC Machinist II to join our growing Kansas City, KS manufacturing team. With more than 65 years in the railroad industry, A&K manufactures specialized trackwork products used throughout the United States. Our CNC Machinists play an important role in turning raw materials into precision components that support the railroad infrastructure. This is a hands-on machining position for someone who has real CNC experience and is comfortable with machine setup, blueprint reading, G-code, inspection, and troubleshooting. You don't need to be a master programmer, but you should be able to work independently, make adjustments, and solve problems when the job doesn't go exactly as planned. What You'll Do Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture precision rail components Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, work orders, and machine specifications Perform measurements and inspections using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain quality and production Use manual tools and equipment as needed to support manufacturing operations Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures while maintaining an organized work area Requirements What We're Looking For We're looking for a dependable machinist who takes pride in their work and can confidently operate in a production environment.
Required:
Previous CNC machining experience Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment Ability to read and understand blueprints and G-code Ability to use basic precision measuring tools, including calipers Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High school diploma or GED Experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines is strongly preferred. Manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or heavy industrial experience is a plus. Why Join A&K?
