Job Description

Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and/or machining centers. Manufacture precision aerospace components from aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other materials. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications. Select, install, and properly set cutting tools, fixtures, vises, probes, and workholding devices. Establish machine offsets, tool-length offsets, work coordinates, and zero-reference points. Load, verify, and execute CNC programs. Perform program edits, tool adjustments, and offset changes at the machine control when required. Monitor machine operation, cutting conditions, tool wear, and part quality throughout the machining process. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment. Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, pin gauges, and other inspection tools. Verify finished parts meet dimensional, tolerance, surface-finish, and customer requirements. Identify and troubleshoot machining problems, including chatter, tool wear, dimensional variation, and fixture-related issues. Complete production records, inspection documentation, setup sheets, and nonconformance reports accurately. Follow established procedures for tool control, material traceability, foreign object debris prevention, and part identification. Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work closely with programmers, manufacturing engineers, quality inspectors, and production leadership to improve machining processes. Follow all company safety, quality, and aerospace manufacturing requirements.
