Weekly Pay $19 an hour, increases to $21 after 90 days 12-hour shifts 8am-8pm / 8pm-8am Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor plastic extrusion machinery used to process recycled plastic materials and produce plastic strapping. Load and feed recycled plastic materials into processing and extrusion equipment according to production specifications. Monitor machine settings, including temperature, pressure, speed, and material flow, to ensure consistent product quality. Make machine adjustments and setup changes as needed to maintain proper strap thickness, width, strength, and overall product specifications. Monitor the melting and extrusion process to identify and correct issues such as inconsistent material flow, improper temperatures, product defects, or machine malfunctions. Perform quality inspections throughout the production process using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, scales, and other inspection equipment. Inspect finished plastic strapping for proper dimensions, appearance, strength, and consistency. Troubleshoot equipment and production issues and communicate mechanical or electrical concerns to maintenance personnel when necessary. Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, material usage records, and machine maintenance logs. Follow established safety procedures when working with heated equipment, moving machinery, recycled materials, and production chemicals. Identify opportunities to reduce material waste, improve production efficiency, and minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Qualifications Previous experience operating industrial machinery, extrusion equipment, plastic processing equipment, or similar manufacturing machinery preferred. Experience working with plastic recycling, plastic extrusion, manufacturing, or production equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and adjust machinery controls and operating parameters. Ability to monitor and adjust temperature, pressure, speed, and material-flow settings. Ability to use basic measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, scales, and other quality-control equipment. Basic math skills for measurements, production calculations, material usage, and machine adjustments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality products. Ability to identify equipment problems, troubleshoot basic mechanical issues, and communicate concerns effectively. Ability to read and follow production specifications, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards. Comfortable working around heat, machinery, recycled materials, and a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Willingness to learn equipment operation, production processes, and company-specific procedures.
