Job Description

Manual Machinist•Lathe & Mill Day Shift, Night Shift, and Weekend Day Shift Pay $19.00•$29.00 per hour based on experience and shift differential
Full-Time, Weekly Pay, and Benefits Day Shift:
Monday•Thursday, 6:00 AM•4:00 PM (40 hours / 10-hour shifts)
Night Shift:
Monday•Thursday, 8:00 PM•6:00 AM (40 hours / 10-hour shifts $2.00/hr. Shift Differential)
Weekend Day Shift:
Friday•Sunday, 6:00 AM•6:00 PM (Work 36 hours, Paid for 40 hours + $1.00/hr. Shift Differential) Position Summary We are seeking a safety-focused Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual lathes, horizontal mills, grinders, and related equipment used to manufacture and repair precision components. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude and experience with manual machining, precision measurement, blueprint reading, machine setup, and industrial manufacturing . Entry-level candidates with technical training are also encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes, horizontal mills, grinders, and machining equipment . Perform turning, facing, drilling, grooving, cutting, threading, knurling, and grinding operations. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications . Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and precision measuring tools to maintain required tolerances. Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy. Adjust tooling and machine settings and troubleshoot equipment as needed. Maintain cutting tools and machining equipment. Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts as required. Follow all quality, PPE, EHS, lockout/tagout, and industrial safety procedures . Meet production, quality, and efficiency standards. Experienced Machinists may troubleshoot equipment and train other employees. Qualifications & Preferred Skills Manual machining, lathe, mill, grinder, or related machine-operation experience preferred. Technical/vocational machining education or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings . Experience with precision measuring instruments and tight tolerances. CNC machining, welding, NDT, industrial maintenance, railroad, locomotive, or heavy-equipment experience is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly walk, bend, squat, kneel, and climb. Comfortable working around industrial machinery, noise, vibration, oils, lubricants, and varying temperatures. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and railroad operations. Required PPE must be worn at all times.
