This is not a traditional production machining role. As the dedicated machinist supporting second-shift operations, you will machine, modify, and repair precision components used in pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment. You'll work independently while collaborating closely with mechanics, assembly technicians, and operations personnel to deliver high-quality repairs that keep customer equipment operating safely and reliably. We are looking for individuals who enjoy solving mechanical challenges, working on a variety of equipment, and taking ownership of their work from setup through final inspection. What You'll Be Working On Machining and repair support for: BBx Pumps OHx Pumps Vertical Pumps Small Compressors Rotating Equipment Industrial Pump Components Custom Repair Parts and Components Candidates with experience supporting repair shops, rotating equipment service centers, industrial maintenance operations, refineries, petrochemical facilities, power generation, or manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and related machine shop equipment. Manufacture, modify, and repair precision components used in pump and rotating equipment repair. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric tolerances (GD&T).
Utilize precision measuring instruments including:
Micrometers Calipers Dial Indicators Bore Gauges Depth Gauges Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure compliance with customer and engineering specifications. Collaborate with repair mechanics and technicians to support equipment restoration projects. Troubleshoot machining challenges and recommend repair solutions when needed. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and operational processes. Maintain accurate documentation and inspection records. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications 5+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing, repair, maintenance, or industrial environment. Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Experience using precision measuring instruments and maintaining close tolerances. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced repair environment. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting rotating equipment repair operations. Experience with pump repair, compressor repair, or industrial equipment refurbishment. CNC machining experience, including exposure to CNC lathes, CNC mills, machine programming fundamentals, or CNC setup and operation. Familiarity with GD&T and precision inspection processes. Military mechanical experience. Industrial maintenance, refinery, petrochemical, or power generation experience. High School Diploma or GED.
