Job Description
Job Summary
DPP is seeking a Machinist III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry.
Work location: Onsite in Lake Charles, LA
Duration:
12 months
Shift:
Must be able to work Mon-Thurs 6:00AM-4:42PM or Mon-Thurs 4:00PM-2:42AM; overtime worked on weekends
Terms:
W2 Contract

US Citizen
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
- Use a variety of machinist hands tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
- Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine materials, parts, and equipment required.
- Some machines may be numerically controlled.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Required qualifications:
6 years of experience as machinist, CNC experience operating HAAS, or Fanuk
