Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up machines, including lathes and milling centers, to produce precise components. Your expertise in machine setup, and quality inspection will be vital in ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes, mills, and grinders using Fanuc or similar control systems. Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing G-code, M-code, and CAM software to optimize machining processes. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate production. Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measurement instruments for quality control. Conduct machine calibration, tooling changes, and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality output. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy. Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, inspection reports, and production logs to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards. Requirements Proven experience operating machinery such as lathe and milling machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and understanding GD&T principles for precise fabrication. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar for part design review. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical blueprint interpretation skills. Experience with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality inspection. Ability to perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, lathes, mills, and power tools when necessary. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters. Knowledge of safety procedures related to machine operation; forklift certification is a plus for material handling needs. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production processes.
Pay:
$20.00 - $32.00 per hour
