Ronpak has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Machinist at our Shreveport, LA facility. This is a full-time position. The machinist must be available any shift needed and pay/salary will be dependent on experience. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints and technical drawings. The Machinist will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiency, utilizing advanced machining techniques and tools. Duties Operate various machining tool to create various machining tools to create precision parts and tools, including lathes, milling machine, gear cutter, surface grinder, hydraulic press, band saw and heat oven. Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing processes. Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling adjustments for various machining operations; perform basic maintenance on machines. Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for complex parts. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools for assembly or finishing tasks. Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts when necessary for material handling. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and waste reduction opportunities. Assist with plastics injection molding processes or assembly tasks as needed within the manufacturing environment. Requirements Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency with CNC lathe and CNC milling machines. Familiarity with GD&T standards, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding, welding, and assembly techniques. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply geometric dimensioning & tolerancing principles. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining operations. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. Experience with tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and lean manufacturing practices preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
