Job Summary:
Machining of parts according to Work Orders and instructions received from Production Manager. This may include drilling, tapping, turning, reaming, boring, cutting, and grinding.Job Responsibilities:
- Machine parts from raw material, repair parts by machining and modifying as needed
- Parts may include tooling for chain bending machines, railing system components, and any other type of Suncor products
- De-burring and polishing of finished parts
- Cleaning damaged, returned, or used parts
- Assembly of Suncor products
- There is no interaction with the sales department or with customers
- There is continual care of the equipment, which includes lubrication, adjusting, and repairing of machinery
- Decision making is moderate, with daily input from Production Manager
- The machine shop is governed by procedure
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational schooling or apprentice training preferred
- General machining skills acquired during work experience
- Prototrak Milling and Lathe experience helpful
- Ability to set up machines for general work
- Knowledge of how to operate all machinery and how to hold work in machines
- Knowledge of using equipment such as manual lathe, milling machines, drilling machine, saws, and semi-manual CNC machinery
- 3+ years of experience required
