lathes . Machine close-tolerance components from a variety of metals and materials. Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and machining specifications . Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, drills, reamers, boring tools, and workholding. Calculate and adjust speeds, feeds, depths of cut, and tooling parameters. Perform manual turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, drilling, and related lathe operations. Perform milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, slotting, and other operations on Bridgeport-style mills. Create and edit basic ProtoTRAK conversational programs and make necessary tool and dimensional offsets. Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, bore gages, and other precision measuring equipment . Maintain required dimensional accuracy and surface-finish requirements. Perform in-process and final inspection of machined components. Identify tooling, machine, material, or process issues and make appropriate adjustments. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Follow company quality procedures and manufacturing documentation. Accurately document production, inspection results, and material usage. Support continuous improvement activities and assist with troubleshooting machining issues. Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and routine adjustments. Strong understanding of machining practices, cutting tools, feeds and speeds. Proficiency using precision inspection equipment. Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs and priorities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Preferred Experience machining aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision components . Familiarity with GD&T . Experience working to tight dimensional tolerances. Experience with CNC milling or CNC machining centers. Familiarity with AS9100 or other quality management systems.
