This is not high-volume production machining. You'll manufacture large, complex, tight-tolerance components used in mission-critical maritime defense applications. Your work will directly support systems that help maintain fleet readiness and operational excellence. Stable Industry Defense manufacturing offers long-term stability and continuous demand for skilled machinists. Your expertise supports critical national maritime capabilities. What You'll Do Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and advanced 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements. Select tooling and adjust machine offsets for complex machining operations. Verify machine parameters and support production of tight-tolerance components. Perform in-process and final inspections using: Micrometers Calipers Gauges Precision measuring instruments Complete secondary operations such as deburring, polishing, and grinding. Document production, quality, and maintenance activities. Troubleshoot machining and quality issues. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to produce parts that meet exact specifications. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of hands-on machining experience. Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

Knowledge of:

G-Code M-Code Shop mathematics Machining fundamentals Ability to read and interpret: Blueprints Engineering drawings Work instructions GD&T requirements Proficiency using precision inspection equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds safely. Preferred Qualifications Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining. Fanuc or Siemens control experience. Defense, aerospace, marine, or heavy manufacturing experience. CNC Machining Technology certification. Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, or related field. Experience machining large, complex, tight-tolerance components. Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Continuous Improvement experience. Training Successful hires will complete paid training on 1st shift before transitioning permanently to their assigned 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.
