Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler Job Description Join a skilled manufacturing team that builds and assembles large propane tanks on the back of trucks. In this hands-on mechanical assembler role, you will use a wide variety of hand tools, interpret blueprints and schematics, and apply your mechanical aptitude to fit nozzles and connectors accurately to tanks according to detailed specifications. Responsibilities Assemble large propane tanks onto truck chassis using a wide variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand assembly requirements, dimensions, and component placement. Fit and install nozzles, connectors, and related components onto tanks in accordance with blueprint specifications. Perform mechanical assembly and machine building tasks in a manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy and quality. Verify proper alignment, fit, and function of assembled components and make adjustments as needed. Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout the assembly process. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and ensure timely completion of builds. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based on the cleaner side of a manufacturing shop where large propane tanks are assembled onto trucks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided in accordance with safety standards. You will work with hand tools, mechanical assembly equipment, and follow shop procedures in a structured, unionized environment. After six months on contract, you will join the union, gaining access to additional protections and benefits. The setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, with clear expectations for quality and adherence to safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cambridge, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.62 - $30.62/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
