Job Description
Position Summary Albion Machine & Tool is seeking an experienced CNC Mill & Lathe Machinist to join our team. We are looking for someone who can set up and operate CNC equipment, inspect their own work, make appropriate adjustments, and recognize problems before they result in scrap or downtime. The right candidate will have strong machining fundamentals, take ownership of their work, and contribute to a safe, productive, and quality-focused shop. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes Perform tool changes and machine offset adjustments Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, and part features Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Monitor dimensions and make adjustments to maintain tolerances Recognize tool wear and make appropriate tooling changes or adjustments Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues Manage part flow and use machine cycle time productively, including operating additional equipment when appropriate Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate effectively, ask questions, and work collaboratively with the machining team Preferred Skills & Experience Previous CNC mill and/or lathe experience CNC setup experience preferred Strong blueprint-reading and machining math skills Experience with precision measuring and inspection equipment Understanding of cutting tools, tool wear, offsets, and machining tolerances Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Dependable, quality-focused, and willing to learn Experience with both CNC mills and lathes is preferred, but candidates with strong experience in either area and a willingness to expand their capabilities are encouraged to apply.
