In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up various machining equipment, interpreting mechanical blueprints, and ensuring precision in metal fabrication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in CNC machining, manual machining, and quality inspection while supporting the production of high-quality components. A strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are essential to thrive in this dynamic environment. Duties Operate CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines, including programming with G-code and M-code for precise manufacturing processes Set up machining tools, calibrate measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measurement devices to ensure accuracy Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for proper fabrication Perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, and power tools to assist in component assembly or finishing processes Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to specifications Maintain machine setups by adjusting tooling, verifying calibration, and troubleshooting issues during production runs Support shop operations by maintaining cleanliness, organizing tools and materials, and assisting with general shop hand duties as needed Requirements Proven experience with CNC programming including CNC G-code programming and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks or CAD systems Knowledge of machining tools including mills, lathes, grinders, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately for manufacturing processes Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), Mazatrol controls, and manufacturing best practices is a plus Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and tolerances Experience with manual machining techniques such as turning on a lathe or milling is desirable Understanding of GD&T principles for quality control purposes Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in machine setup and measurement verification Join our team where your skills will directly contribute to producing high-quality metal components!
